Spiderman half-ups

This assignment had us to choose or write a script where the 1st page is a splash and the 2nd page is a regular page. And then we would draw these out into complete full-size pages, plus the cover.

I chose a cheesy spiderman story that was funded by the C.A.C.P.

I only got as far as half-ups done but I'm kinda pleased with the layouts.

more half-ups

1st one is called "Cap in Torment"; from an old Captain America issue. It sucks. But I thought I would post it up nontheless, because it was the 1st time I put speech bubbles on a page; and its a reminder to me on how not to do a page.

The other one is a do-whatever-you-want page, I think I'm fairly pleased with this one because I treated it as a doodle.

"9" character design

I entered an art contest for the film "9" awhile back. Of course I didn't win; and I'm sure some beautifully colored piece of art was chosen. Not to mention I spent very little time on this and sent it right before the deadline.

"Going Steady" Assignment

We were given a script from an old comic and we made our own version. Our teacher, Kent Burles, showed us the original comic page after we handed it in. I think I screwed up on the 1st panel.
(I don't have a big enough scanner to scan the whole page in one scan. So I had to scan each half of the page; hence the dark middle)

VENOM!

Some half-ups

these pages are about 5 x 7 inches. I like working this small and a lot of professional artists like to do this too before they blow their stuff up. The one with the 9 identical panels is based off an incident between jack kirby, will eisner, and a gangster. The one that looks like Donald Trump is based off...Donald Trump; its an excerpt from one of his books on how to be a billionaire. Last ones are a generic spiderman exercise and a sea monster exercise.

1st Assignment at Max The Mutt

I forgot what the name of the class was; it seemed so long ago and it only lasted 2 weeks. Anyways the general outline of the assignment is a character enters a building, character meets another character, and then they interact. So naturally, I came up with this.

Some more old stuff

These were done for the Design and Composition section of the advanced standing portfolio. Each of these drawings are only a few inches in size. They're small but they're big enough to get across the idea that I have some knowledge and execution of...Design and Composition.

These are a couple of pages I had to do for the advanced standing portolio...to get into 2nd year Ilustration at Max The Mutt Animation School.

storyboard (kinda) assignment

Early semester assignment of choosing a film and breaking it down to 16 panels. I chose From Dusk Till Dawn.
